President Donald Trump labeled as ‘Racist in Chief’ after his latest tweetstorm

President Donald Trump took to Twitter TWTR, +1.69% early Sunday morning to tell Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley to “go back” to their countries and ”fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

Of course, it’s worth noting three of the four women mentioned were born in the United States. Ilhan Omar, born in Somalia, is the only exception.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has had her own issues with the congresswomen in recent days, was quick to respond, calling Trump’s tweets “xenophobic comments meant to divide our nation.”

New York Mayor and presidential hopeful Bill de Blasio said on CNN that “unfortunately, there’s an American tradition of telling people to go back to where they came from” and that Trump was trying to “gin up his base.”
